I love the Brother printers (HL-2170W), and for money you can't beat them. I'm still on the toner cartridge that came with the printer, and have only printed a few hundred pages but already got the toner low message. You can't print when that light comes on. I'm not sure if the cartridge that comes with the printer has less than normal toner or if it's really reporting low toner much earlier than it should, but by my estimate I should not have even used half the toner yet.
I have to thank whoever came up with the tape over the round side holes, because I'm back to printing again. I prefer to wait until it starts visibly streaking than to give extra money to the toner cartridge sellers and wasting toner.

The reviewers on here are awesome! My toner light was flashing and I was checking the site to find the lowest price for a new one. Instead I found the comments about extending the life of the old toner. IT WORKS! All you have to do is pull out your toner and cover the round window on the right side with dark tape and print away! Amazon reviewers are the best!!!!!
